Knowlogy: Building Organizational Capacity

About Knowlogy

Knowlogy is a privately held company with more than two decades of experience managing education projects while continuously growing and expanding its business operations worldwide. Knowlogy has been influential in its education endeavors across the globe, with a history of successful implementation and management of technology education programs. Knowlogy excels in coordinating programs in hardship locations throughout the world by using its experience in delivering and executing worldwide strategies to meet client needs.

Capacity Building is much more than training and includes the following:

  • Human resource development, the process of equipping individuals with the understanding, skills and access to information, knowledge and training that enables them to perform effectively.
  • Organizational development, the elaboration of management structures, processes and procedures, not only within organizations but also the management of relationships between the different organizations and sectors (public, private and community).
  • Institutional and legal framework development, making legal and regulatory changes to enable organizations, institutions and agencies at all levels and in all sectors to enhance their capacities.

Past Projects

Afghanistan Technical and Vocational Institute (ATVI)- Knowlogy designed, developed, and implemented the Afghanistan Technical and Vocational Institute (ATVI), a coeducational vocational school in Kabul, to provide hands-on learning in the areas of construction, agriculture/horticulture, automotive mechanics, and information technology for the Afghan nation. The school offers the largest vocational program in Afghanistan, and is an example of our focus on implementing sustainable projects.

Electronic Blackboards in Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the UAE- Knowlogy implemented electronic assistive devices for instructors in the Middle East. The key proposition is simple enough: use technology to deliver top quality standardized learning at low cost independent of the physical location of the student. The result was standardized, interactive learning for grades 1-12 in Egyptian schools located in Cairo and Alexandria. The project included comprehensive English and Math programs with interactive learning activities and curriculum for 1,000 students. (Current Initiatives)

Iraqi ICT Training and Certification- Knowlogy was appointed by the US Trade & Development Agency (USTDA) to build capacity in ICT. Participants were selected from the indigenous population in order to become trained trainers of technology subject matter. Our first priority was to select the right candidates, to have those delegates achieve technical certification exams as proof of competency, we then put them through a rigorous process in order to certify them as technical trainers. Knowlogy's USTDA funded education project was carried out in four phases, each phase focusing on smaller groups of students taking classes in focused subject areas. Knowlogy provided a total of 18 certifications in subjects such as Java, Cisco, CompTIA, and Oracle. A total of 379 courses were taken by nearly 100 Iraqi IT engineers. Our cohort of Iraq trainers are now engaged in the education of thousands of Iraqi students.
